WHY CHOOSE US

Angara Tours and Travel General Booking Terms  & Conditions

Welcome to Angara Tours and Travel. Before we finalize your tailor-made East African itinerary, please take a moment to carefully read our official Terms and Conditions. By confirming a booking, paying a deposit, or authorizing an itinerary with us, you enter into a legally binding contract with Angara Tours and Travel, governed strictly by the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
As a premier Uganda safari tour operator based at the northern gateway of Murchison Falls in Pakwach, we are dedicated to protecting your investment while maintaining absolute compliance with local conservation laws, national park regulations, and international transport standards.

1. Group Bookings, Custom Itineraries & Reservations
To ensure that your private expedition or small-group tour is seamlessly executed, please provide precise and verifiable travel information upon initial inquiry:
• Your specific tour number or custom itinerary reference.
• Exact, legally binding dates of international arrival and departure.
• Total number of travelers in your immediate party.
• Detailed accommodation preferences (Luxury, Mid-Range, or Custom Blend).
• Confirmed flight details and full passport copies (required for booking domestic transfers via Pakuba Airfield and securing tracking clearances).

2. Strict Primate Trekking & Wildlife Permit Regulations
Gorilla and chimpanzee tracking are highly exclusive experiences strictly managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
• Advance Booking Windows: Securing a gorilla trekking permit requires a minimum of 3 to 6 months advance booking (and up to 12 months for peak dry seasons).
• Statutory Age Limits: In accordance with Ugandan wildlife conservation laws, children under 12 years are strictly prohibited from tracking chimpanzees, and individuals under 15 years are not permitted to track mountain gorillas.
• No Wildlife Guarantees: While tracking habituated primate families offers a 98% success rate, wild encounters can never be completely guaranteed. Because these permits represent a direct conservation tariff paid straight to the state, UWA permits are 100% non-refundable and non-changeable once purchased.

3. Payment Structures & Financial Clearances
Your safari arrangements are only securely locked in once the appropriate funds have been processed through our secure accounts:
• Deposit Requirements: A mandatory 50% deposit of the total safari quote must be settled at least 2 months (60 days) prior to departure to secure high-demand eco-lodges and timing slots.
• Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance must be cleared at least 21 days prior to your departure date.
• Late / Short-Notice Bookings: For any custom itineraries requested within 21 days of travel, 100% full payment is required instantly upon booking confirmation. Failure to settle balances within these standard timeframes grants us the right to treat the booking as canceled.

4. Cancellation Policies & Refund Frameworks
Should you need to cancel your highly anticipated Uganda holiday package, cancellations must be submitted directly to our office in writing. Because we pay immediate cash deposits to secure luxury wilderness lodges and local transport assets, our cancellation scale is as follows:
• 90 days or more before departure: 20% of the total safari cost is retained, plus the full cost of non-refundable primate permits.
• 30 to 89 days before departure: 50% of the total safari cost is retained, plus the full cost of non-refundable primate permits.
• 15 to 29 days before departure: 75% of the total safari cost is retained, plus the full cost of non-refundable primate permits.
• 0 to 14 days before departure (or No-Show): 100% of the total safari cost is retained. No refunds are possible.

5. Transparent Inclusions & Clear Exclusions
We believe in absolute transparency. Your official safari invoice clearly indicates what is included in your premium package.
• Standard Inclusions: Professional ground transportation in a customized 4x4 open-roof safari land cruiser, dedicated English-speaking driver-guide allowances, park entrance fees, UWA boat cruises, and accommodation meals as indicated.
• Standard Exclusions: International flight tickets, Ugandan entry visas, personal porter fees, tips/gratuities, alcoholic beverages, laundry services, and items of a purely personal nature.

6. Luggage Capacities & Travel Insurance Mandates
• Baggage Limitations: Due to the physical space inside customized 4x4 vehicles and the strict weight limits of domestic bush flights (like AeroLink flights into Pakuba), travelers are limited to one soft-sided duffel bag or backpack weighing no more than 15 kg, plus a small daypack. Hard-shell suitcases are strongly discouraged as they cannot safely fit into safari vehicle cargo bays. Excess baggage can be securely stored at our main operations hubs.
• Mandatory Travel Insurance: It is a strict condition of booking that every traveler must possess comprehensive international travel insurance. Your policy must explicitly cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, luggage loss, and emergency international medical evacuation (we highly recommend pairing this with an AMREF Flying Doctors local membership).

7. Force Majeure & Limitation of Liability
• Inherent Trail Risks: By booking an adventurous wildlife tour, you acknowledge that travel within the African bush involves an element of personal risk. Angara Tours and Travel and its local agents accept no liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss of life resulting from wild animal behavior, rough terrain, or natural forest elements.
• Force Majeure: We cannot be held liable or pay financial compensation for unforeseen disruptions entirely beyond our operational control. This includes flight delays, mechanical breakdowns on remote tracks, extreme weather variations, border closures, government restructuring of tariff acts, civil unrest, or global health mandates.

8. Resolution of Complaints & Feedback Loops
In the rare event that a service fails to meet our high company standards, the issue must be reported immediately to your dedicated Angara driver-guide or our 24/7 passenger support line (+256 781 541372) so we can rectify it in real-time. If a problem cannot be resolved on the spot, formal complaints must be submitted to our management team in writing within 30 days of completing your safari for a formal legal review.
